How Being Reactive Sabotages Your Leadership…

The yin and yang, the reactive and proactive, the value adder and the energy drainer… these all represent the same fundamental principles, the 2 sides of the same coin for human behavior.

I was on a live Leadership webinar with Ray Higdon last night, one of my direct mentors and business partners and he brought up the subject of how being reactive can really sabotage your leadership.

So, my advice be the ghost and the flame. I’ve read this analogy in a book called “Revelation”. Here are some of the things being a ghost and a flame means:

  • Relaxed
  • Not Needy
  • Unreactive
  • Cool
  • No Agenda
  • No Big Deal
  • Solid

  • Happy
  • Always Adding Value
  • Positive
  • Makes Things Happen
  • Warm & Friendly
  • Appreciative

So if you are not playing the ghost and the flame in the lives of the people that you know and you prospect… you are missing out on the best quality relationships you can build with the people around you… and of course, money.

This is directly applicable to your MLM business my friend… just in case it has not hit you yet!

I used to be very reactive to daily everyday activities. Once I learned how to be aware of my subconscious I very rapidly began to take control of situations in a positive manner, rather than letting myself become negatively reactive. Great post John!

Thanks Preston. Yes and that is the key, if we are aware, then we have a chance. If not, we are the puppets of our own emotions and thoughts!

Awesome video Jon! You know how I know you are a leader? Because you didn’t REACT to the cars driving by in the video ;)

:) Thanks Duke appreciate the comment. Yes when I am shooting the video my focus is laser targeted on my message to make sure I deliver maximum punch and value. Car, no car, rain, hail.. the train keeps on moving! lol

Great video John, it is very rare indeed for true leaders to lose their cool. A clear head and calm controlled manner will win every time. Reminds me of something I learned a long time ago,’never tolerate abusive people’.

Hehe! Never tolerate abusive people… absolutely. Why even get sucked into their negative energies.

I like this ghost and flame – I must admit I’ve near heard of it before. I think I’m more a flame though :)
