In this post, I will introduce you to the 3 most dangerous words in the English language to show you how they hold you back in your life and MLM business.
I am going to challenge and dismantle this very strong belief that you might have that is holding you back. As a result you will be more open to accepting the reality of your situation as well as how to overcome it. This ability is priceless in your journey to achieve your goals and desires.
Let’s get started…
The 3 most DANGEROUS words in the English language…
Last weekend, I had the opportunity to attend some of the “Millionaire Mind Intensive” seminar run by Peak Potentials.
Just in case you do not know who they are, it is one of the companies involving T. Harv Eker, the author of the #1 New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA today bestseller book: Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth.
Harv Eker is one of my favorite authors and I certainly recommend for everybody who is interested in building their wealth to read this book. You will not regret it. It has TREMENDOUS concepts, beliefs and strategies you can use to start increasing your wealth.
One of the first things that was shared over this 3 day seminar, were the three most dangerous words in the English language and they are:
“I know that…”
Why are they so dangerous?
Have you ever heard yourself or someone else say “I know that” when learning something to help overcome a roadblock in life or business? I have. As a matter of fact, I am sure that I’m guilty of this in the past and maybe even sometimes now. You might be asking yourself why are these words so dangerous?
If you think about it, when do we tend to use these words? Generally it’s when we have a certain problem or roadblock that we want to overcome.
Typically, we start thinking about this particular roadblock, maybe pick up a book about the topic, ask a friend or family for advice, go to your coach/mentor and ask them, attend a seminar, watch a documentary…
Let’s say you are having a problem sponsoring more people into your network marketing business. You go to your coach (who has many, many years of experience and has made a lot of money) they point to your attention some bad habits that you want to work on to improve that. For example, improving your questions, your listening abilities, identify their problem, and give your prospect what they want.
Many people might take this PRICELESS advice and turn in onto a personal attack on them, as a result of the conditioned mind. The person is more or less avoiding damage to their ego. In addition, a lot of people are resistant to new ideas and methods. They stick with what they think is true based on assumptions, judgments, and conditioned beliefs.
So then their response to the coach is “I know that…” followed by a bunch of excuses for why they cannot do this or why it is not working out for them. They have just missed a perfect opportunity to learn some life lessons that will definitely help.
How do you know if you REALLY know that?
Then you might come back to me and say: “John but I really really really know that.” So the question becomes how do you assess yourself and decide whether or not you know something or you think you know it?
Well, as Peak Potentials put it in the seminar:
“You only know something if you live it…”
You may have read about it, you may have to listened to someone talk about it, you may have watched a seminar or a documentary about it, but that is it. You only truly know something if you live it, or have the results of it in your life.
As a conclusion, remember that when you have a roadblock in your life or business, it is the universe telling you that there is something that you need to know or learn about in order to overcome it. This is a perfect opportunity for you to grow and develop your skills.
If you use the words “I know that…” without having that results in your life, then you are missing a TREMENDOUS opportunity to develop yourself and eventually have your goals and desires become true. So next time you seek advice, I urge you to hold your judgment and assumptions on whether or not you truly know something, then take action.
